General

1. What is Blu-ray?

   Is the replacement disc based format to DVD. It enables higher storage capacity of 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. The higher storage provides for the necessary space to contain Full High Definition videos for a full-feature movie length.

2. Why the name Blu-ray?

   It is derived from the underlying technology, as it uses a blue-violet laser to read and write its content. Hence the Blu from its blue-violet laser and Ray for its optical based disc and requiring the ray to read its content. "Blu-Ray" is intentionally left 'e' so as it could be registered as trademark.

3. Who developed Blu-ray?

   The Blu-Ray Disc format is developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), its composition of members are from 180 leading consumer electronics, personal computer and media manufacturers.

4. How much video can you fit on a Blu-ray disc?

   Typically a Blu-ray disc could contain a over 4 hours in full high definition on a 50GB disc.

5. Will Blu-ray require an Internet connection?

   Not necessary for playing back the Blu-ray movies. It is only needed in the event of updating, downloading of new extras, watching trailers, web browsing etc.

6. Will Blu-ray replace DVDs?

   Yes, this is a replacement format to DVD.

7. Will Blu-ray be backwards compatible with DVD?

   Yes

8. Why should I upgrade from DVD to Blu-ray?

   By changing to Blu-ray, you would maximise your Plasma/LCD TV display capability. In fact it would offer 5 times the amount of detail compared to DVD video.

   Therefore from a 720 x 480 video resolution to 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. Its audio department also improve in capacity enabling 'loseless' audio up to 8 channels.

   Upgrading to Blu-ray allows consumers an unprecedented FHD experience.

9. Is Blu-ray the same thing as HD-DVD?

   HD-DVD was in competition with Blu-Ray as the next format replacing DVD, but early 2008, Toshiba promoter of HD-DVD concede and has stop pursuing its HD-DVD format.

11. Why can't I find a particular movie in Blu-ray?

    More titles would become available over the next few months, especially now that Blu-ray is the only FullHD format. FullHDClub intend to make available over 1000 titles to choose from before end of 2008.

   It would take not more than 4 weeks to reach our members

2. Do you accept cash or credit card?

   We accept cash and cheque for out of Klang Valley and credit card within Klang Valley. We also have a special tie-up with UOB Credit Card, whereby you could pay with UOB Credit Card on 12-month interest free installments.

3. Do you ship internationally?

   We currently serve the Malaysian market only.
